Hey there. I realize this is a really unusual issue and I apologize if it's not suited for this forum, but I've been able to get Vegas Pro 14 working through Wine after some struggling. I've recently switched to Manjaro from Windows and wanted to continue using Vegas to edit videos. The program works essentially as well as it did on Windows for me which is great, but aside from the major issue of nearly all VSTs crashing Vegas immediately upon pressing play. Some VSTs work perfectly fine (TAL Chorus for example, https://tal-software.com/products/tal-chorus-lx) but most of the other ones I try will crash (the FabFilter suite).
Most of the time Vegas won't even have any information but occasionally it does, and it's always an error along these lines:
Problem Description Application Name: VEGAS Pro Application Version: Version 14.0 (Build 161) 64-bit Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005) Fault Module: C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0\sfvstwrap.dll Fault Address: 0x000000000C03F190 Fault Offset: 0x000000000000F190 Fault Process Details Process Path: C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0\vegas140.exe Process Version: Version 14.0 (Build 161) 64-bit Process Description: VEGAS Pro Process Image Date: 2016-09-13 (Tue Sep 13) 22:47:24
This could all just be something that's Wine's fault, but I suspect there's something missing that Vegas is looking for and just can't find. I was hoping someone had some insight into what I could possibly try to get this working.
Thanks for any help!
