Where Or How Do I get Architect

Jamie-Tant wrote on 11/2/2020, 3:10 PM

I have just purchased and installed the Vegas Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum which works great except I`ve noticed it doesn't have the DVD Architect with it like I did with my previous versions of Movie Studio. How and Where do I get Architect so it will work with Movie Studio 17.0 so when clicking make a DVD with menus. Hoe someone can help me with this issue, Thank you.

With which version of VMS did you get DVDA and which buildnr is it. The last years that program was not updated anymore. I think you can use it with VMS 17 when the older one is not too old.

As @j-v said, VEGAS DVD Architect was not updated anymore after build #100. If you got DVD A 7 with a previous VEGAS MS Platinum purchase, all you need is to check that you have the latest update. If not, update it using your MAGIX Account. If you don't have VEGAS DVD A 7, you need to try and contact sales@magix.net

Hi @j-v @vkmast thanks for the replies, The last one I`ve got is DVDA 5.0, I have downloaded it using my Magix Account and it`s installed on my pc however I can open and use the programme but when I click to make movie from the movie studio 17.0 it says it looks like you don`t have DVDA installed? Is there anyway I can get to work with movie studio 17.0 if not is there anyway I can get it at all as that's the main reason I choice to upgrade the movie studio but I also need the DVDA.

As far as I know DVDA is not sold anymore together with the program.
The last was in VMS 16 Pl , that was DVDA 7 b 100.
I use it not more since at least 10 years, but if you want it to use with VMS 16 or 17 you need to upgrade the program itself to that latest build .

If you do not want to try and buy the current version of DVD Architect (you need ask MAGIX), try this advice from a very experienced VEGAS/Movie Studio user:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/how-to-burn-to-dvd--106670/#ca660561

you should then to be able to "Insert Media" (your file) to DVD A.

@vkmast Thank you that is very informative but to much for after the day I’ve had at work. Still I think the best way forward for me is to buy the current version of DVDA as you said. Well it be sales@magix.net I need to contact for that? Thanks again much appreciated.

vkmast wrote on 11/2/2020, 4:13 PM

@Jamie-Tant I think that is the address. If not, try infoservice@magix.net

Note that the connection from Platinum (latest builds) to DVD A7 works, but not from the basic version. The advice in the link is still valid.

@vkmast That’s great, thanks for all your help I will update this post as soon as I’ve had a reply from Magix. Many thanks 👍

@Jamie-Tant I've been using DVAS 5.0 for years now with all my versions of Vegas and Movie Studio. I believe that the accepted workflow now, certainly the one that I use, is to render out to your hard drive using a DVDAS compliant video stream and a separate compliant audio stream. You can then import the video stream into DVDAS and, providing the audio stream is in the same directory as the video stream, it will be imported automatically. There will be no re-compression of the streams and you eliminate issues associated with doing it from within Movie Studio Platinum.

@Jack S I very much agree on doing it "by the book". The link to the advice was given in order to help him get going until he gets the new version where he can use Make Movie (video and audio rendered separately) until he needs to advance to customizing (e.g.) bitrates.
