Why do video tracks keep "Expanding" ?

PeterWright wrote on 10/24/2017, 4:36 AM

I am trying to get familiar with VP15 Pro by using it, but whilst trying to edit an event on a video track, it keeps "springing" into Expanded A/B View. I have never needed to use this view, ever since I first started using Vegas Video 3, but it keeps happening.- am I inadvertently triggering an unknown shortcut? I don't know, but it's driving me crazy - all I have to do is drag an event edge to change its duration, and the track suddenly "springs" into Expanded View.

Help appreciated - is there a way to permanently disable this feature?

Cheers

Expanded View happens when double-clicking on the left or right hand side of an event.- the edge that triggers EV will be highlighted in red. To get out of EV, just double-click the red edge again, and the standard timeline view will return.

This has been a topic of discussion on the forum for some time (including with VP14) and, vey unfortunately, there is no known way to disable EV.

Hitting '5' on the keyboard's numeric pad should also enable you to enter and get out of EV.

.... and to add to the bad experience, when I hit pause, the Preview suddenly changes to two separate images, side by side. Does anyone know what this is - looks like a function to see two frames together, but I don't want it!

Thanks so much Dexcon - I just double clicked a red edge, and the double image also disappeared from Preview
