For me, this forum needs to be listed as BETA at least until it adds the Search by Date filter.

While not exactly a Search by Date, they have implemented a way to limit the results. I was able to use the search (by clicking search / options) this morning to limit a search for "Nvidia" to only the last month :-)
Agreed that some added search filters would be better, but it's really most useful when the feedback is better tagged. Other than the datestamp and the 5 major categories, there's not a lot of tagging on this forum really, which does make searching more difficult. Tags might include things like app version, feature categories, and much more. Without more detailed search parameters, people will just keep opening new topics. In the Vegas Pro category alone (on my browser), there's already over 3300 pages of posts!!! That's a lot of manual searching!
On another forum, I liked a feature that would pick up keywords when I start a new discussion to find other discussions that might cover the same or similar issue, and then suggest those to me -- whereby perhaps I could just append to an existing discussion instead of adding more clutter.
But the real question in my mind here is what's happening to move from Beta? Is there an active effort? To me, the site appears to be very 'live' already, though loosely organized, especially as it carried over posts from the Sony days.
If the site is seeking feedback from us, there should be a specific way to provide that feedback (more specific than this post) -- maybe another category for just that purpose. Else, it might as well just "roll out" and then add enhancements going forward. (*I have a background as an IT projects' lead so my comments come from that angle)

I made this pinned topic for specific requests. The rate of accommodating requests and fixing bugs was pretty fast at first, but has slowed down now. A proper advanced search is still top of my list. I still do nearly all my searching of this forum on Google.
The developers also have the task of developing and supporting the sister Magix forum which was more recently introduced. Presumably they want both platforms to share as much code as possible, and they have differing feedback coming from the members there.
Got it. I missed that, but since it's the first topic in off-topics, I only have myself to blame. Thanks! I would certainly support sharing the forum code as it'll lower development time in the long run.
I'm taking away that 'beta' means this forum has not yet been built out to its current scope (which might include the code merging with the newer Magix forum code). If it's waiting to implement all user requests, it'll be in beta forever. ('scope creep'.) (smile)
Just for the record, I don't really care, and it certainly shouldn't be your highest priority. It's just a topic I latched onto, probably because of my PM background. Thanks for the clarifications. Cheers!
