Please see here.

Meanwhile, as you probably have the serial numbers now, see the VEGAS Pro 18 section in 6. Direct links here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/

Thank you for your response. I do know where the download page is! I wanted the CD version because I have had corruption issues in the past downloading upgrades from Magix.

I can understand that. Note though that the future updates of the software need to be downloaded anyway.

With the last few releases, we only include the download manager on the disk, so you would still need to to download the product anyway.

Then why is Magix selling a "CD Backup" if it's not a true backup? Essentially I got ripped off then. Not cool.

If that is the case it is also misrepresentation and in breach of German/EEC consumer law?

That's pretty poor M-Zotos. Better an apology and send out the correctly labeled CD ASAP. Better still, remove the Backup CD option if in reality product can only be downloaded anyways. Just seems tardy.

Wow yeah. Anybody can burn the download manager on a DVD. I would expect it be a fully extracted and install-able version of the VEGAS you bought. Especially for extra $

I would agree with the general assessment of the situation. I have sent some inquiries into our sales and marketing folks because if we are selling backup CDs with only the download manager, that does indeed seem rather disingenuous of us. My guess is that when we stopped providing the actual product installer on the disc for our boxed product, the affect on the CD backup option may not have been taken into consideration. At this point, I am waiting to hear back confirmation from the sales and marketing folks. Hopefully all this is incorrect and the backup has what it should on it. (However, I fear this is not the case since the VEGAS Pro installer is larger than the capacity of a traditional CD unless the disc is actually a DVD.)

Thank you for your assistance!

We'll, it's been nearly a week so I will have to assume there is no additional info about the subject and that I will eat the cost of the backup CD. I know it's not a big loss financially, I just don't like the idea that the company has no way to get in touch with them directly, even for sales related matters. Thanks for everyone's input.
