Accidentally uninstalled Sound Forge Pro 18, and I need help with VP

Aiden-Lockhart wrote on 4/20/2024, 7:22 PM

I have a really serious problem. I accidentally uninstalled Sound Forge Pro 18 to save up storage space, and I now most audio plugins are missing on Vegas Pro. I really need help as I cannot make more projects with this issue. If anyone would help, it would be very grateful.

Kind regards,

Aiden Lockhart

@Aiden-Lockhart You say most are missing which suggests you are left with VP's native audio plugins and the ones acquired from SF have gone. Probably the answer is to reinstall SF.

But I don't want to download the trial version. I already paid for the full version months ago, and I don't want to waste any more money reinstalling Sound Forge. I'm missing plugins like Pitch Shift.

If you've already purchased Sound Forge, you don't have to buy it again nor use a trial version of SF18 - just install ithe version that you've already purchased again. If you haven't got the .exe file or the installer, just go to the My Products listing in your MAGIX My Account and download the installer from there.

Sound Forge's native FX are inbuilt to the program and aren't available as separate VST plugin package for purchase.

(As @Dexcon already advised)

Log in to your MAGIX account at https://www.magix.com/int/support/my-service-center/

Then click "My Products". You should find Sound Forge Pro 18 where you will find download instructions and your serial number. (Click also "Show more details" to see "Number of devices that can be used simultaneously".)

Eric did not suggest repurchasing, only reinstalling.

@Aiden-Lockhart Pitch Shift appears in my Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17 so I assume it's also a native plugin to Vegas Pro, so probably hasn't come from a Sound Forge installation.

Try a "Factory reset' of your VP. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

If that doesn't work then try uninstalling and reinstalling your Vegas Pro. But try the reset first.

Reinstalling Sound Forge is easy and make the plugs available in Vegas. Not to mention Sound Forge can be integrated into Vegas to open audio event(s) (or the entire file).
btw, many of the native and legacy SF plug-ins are Direct X.
