adding media

I purchased Movie Studio 16. How do I ADD MEDIA to the storyboard without it going to the Timeline? Also can I customize the Tabs? I don't see the option for Explorer or other tabs.

I don't think you see the actual timeline area as long as you add media (or update timeline in Guided mode).

Movie Studio 16 is a restricted version of MS Platinum and does not come with those options. Unfortunately most (all?) of the tutorials seem to be created with Platinum even on the product pages.
