Adjust the length of a crossfade in both events with the mouse in 14?

If you can, I'll upgrade.  You could do this just fine in 11, and then in 13 you can't, and it's absurd.  If you fade two events into each other, then you can't grab the ending of the earlier event with your mouse and alter how far it goes into the second.  You have to use keyboard commands to achieve this fundamental and basic task.  Can I adjust both events to change the length of a crossfade by using the mouse in Vegas Movie Studio 14?

Yes you can. It's slightly misleading as grabbing the far end brings up a help or context box about Fade In Offset, but moving it to the left does trim the end of the first clip.

Hadn't realised MS13 didn't do this but having checked see what you mean.

Also suggest you download the trial to check. There are also other changes as MS11 is three versions back now.

Re Sony MS Platinum 13, a couple of related threads discussing the use of the Expand track layers option¹ here and here to work around the trimming issue. Note that this option has been inexplicably "removed" from MVMSP 14. To me it seems they thought it's one of the features "that was not particularly relevant to that version of the software."

¹) right-click on the video track header to find.

Removing something is always risky and bound to get up users noses. I wonder what else will get removed in MS15?

Eric, thanks for the tip about trimming the previous clip on the timeline. My workflow relies heavily on being able to trim both ends of clips when they're crossfaded together. Expand Track layers in MSP13 made this easy but when I upgraded to VMS14 and found that this was no longer available I had to find a workaround. I never thought of simply trying to drag the right hand edge back. The Fade icon convinced me that it wasn't possible. I must learn to 'think outside the box' in future. Thanks again.
