Make sure you have read access to the file/folder and that it is not corrupted.

(The post translated:)

"when opening the file the following message appears:

An error occurred while loading the project file xxxx.veg

Make sure you have read access to the file/folder and that it is not corrupted.

I can't open the saved project. Everything is gone :-("

Hello.
I am running Vegas Pro 22 and I have errors loading projects mostly everyday.
Directories and Files are not corrupted.
I work all day long in a project and then I save it.
Next day I try opening it and after loading +-30% it stops loading. Same error message.
The solution: renaming the veg.bak file to a new name *.veg and then I can open it.
The work is saved, indeed. But this is not supposed to be this way.
Any clues why this happens?
Thank you!

The fact that it gets to around 30% suggests Vegas has found the file okay but hiccups on media or system requirements part way through.

When this happens have you just booted up your pc or have you been doing other, non Vegas, work and then started Vegas?

A suggestion - when it happens wait 30 seconds then try again.

@Paulo-Felberg the .bak file is a backup of the previous save and not a backup of the last save. Loading Vegas projects can take some time especially when there are lots of media imported. Make projects not unnecessary large or clean up project media = remove unused media from project.

No boot, but restarted Vegas, yes! Then it crashes.

I am used so save a lot. So, this works for me.

@Paulo-Felberg When you save the last save twice, than the .bak file is identical to the project file. If the project file contains errors the .bak file should contain the same errors.

Something must be wrong on your system that reloading a project causes a crash. When not rebooting your PC, make sure that in General Preferences the "Close media files when not the active application " is disabled.
