Arrow edit tool replaced by "hand" in Vegas 14?

I cannot be the only person who hates the blunt "hand" cursor in Vegas 14! How can I get the old "arrow" cursor back? To clarify: The arrow appears on tracks with no events, or when I hover OFF the timeline...but as soon as I go to make a cut or change an event, I get that darned FAT HAND. (I just upgraded from version 11) I have looked under "edit tools". I use Movie Studio Platinum 14, build 148. Any help?

What mode do you have the cursor set to -- Normal Tool, Envelope Tool or Selection Tool?

Been this way in MSPs since v 12.

Steve, I tried all the modes....but my default is "Normal". I am constantly hitting unwanted icons (like the FX) when making tiny little edits....impossible to do with a blunt tool. (yes, I know I can expand the timeline, but good GOD I just want my arrow back!

You know you can toggle those Event Buttons off/on from View menu (KB shortcut Ctrl+Shift+C)?

I did not know that, vkmast. That will help make this inconvenience less painful. Still, Vegas needs to GIVE THE OPTION BACK to have the arrow at all times. I'm sure that's not THAT difficult.

Just normal resistance of change, I guess. But you might even get that option back in future. Vegas Pro 15 still has the (editing tool) cursor icon behaving as in VMSP 11. Btw, I and some other users had a discussion on this change way back when. (Read the thread to the very end)
