Audio and video files only appear as a sliver in Movie Studio 15.0

When I put an audio or video file onto the track it just comes up as a soundless and visual-less sliver. I have reset the program by holding shift+ctrl while opening but it didn't solve anything. It doesn't do this with images of any kind, I've tested. This is movie studio 15.0 . I haven't used it for a few years but I'm certain this never happened before, and I don't think I could uninstall and reinstall it because I downloaded the software from one of those disks you can get at Staples, and they have install limits.

I'm using a windows 10 desktop if that matters.

I took this screenshot to show what I mean by the sliver. I have my cursor over it so you can see it easier.

The audio clip you've added appears to be of zero length?

Generally, if you have registered your software, it should be downloadable from your MAGIX account > My products. As/if you have the serial number you could try also MAGIX Download Center

Yes, I know. That's the problem. The clip plays normally everywhere else on my computer, but here it says the audio file is empty, which just isn't true.

I don't have an account but I still have the serial number with the box. Thank you for this link, I didn't know you could redownload it this way. I don't know if redowloading it will fix the issue but now I can at least try.
