@robert-q Please don't double post. I've removed your other thread.

I've never experienced this and cannot find a setting that relates, other than switching off waveform creation during recording.

Which version of VMS are you using. With which type of files are your waveforms missing. Please show us a screengrab of your timeline with the empty waveforms. You can upload an image to the forum with the upload button to the right of the paper clips in the header of the message box.

If VMS is behaving strange often a "factory reset" can fix things https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/ Make sure you tick the box to clear the cache.

Have you checked the setting of "Audio Event Waveforms" in View menu?

Thanks @vkmast I knew it was there somewhere but couldn't find the wood for the trees 😀 Hopefully its simply that Robert has accidentally switched it off.

You guys pinned it down, as I expected. Sometimes the obvious is not so obvious. I haven't a clue as to why it changed. I'm taking phone pictures of all of the settings, and keeping them on file, now that everything is working well on 15.0. Now I have to begin the learning curve with 17.0, that's giving me issues. Thanks, everyone!
