best render settings

Okay, I realize that this subject has probably been beaten to death by now.
I've also seen the knowledge base page with all the different settings and recommendations and so forth. I have also tried many different settings and burned quite a few different dvd's from the same file. Frankly just about everything seems to turn out fairly well. Just from a hands on perspective, is there any specific set of criteria that you guys have tried that seems to give a superior results?
I'm going from a vegas pro 11 movie to dvd architect pro 5.2.
thanks for whatever insight you have!

What are you starting with?

What are you making?

If you are making a DVD then render to the DVD Architect template for video and separately to the AC3 template for audio. PAL is 720x576 and NTSC is 720x480.

Starting with a vegas pro 11 movie and making a dvd.
In the architect pro menu there are quite a few dvd architect templates.
Just wondered if any 1 of those was any better than the others.
cheers

Steve,
what are the templates in the DVDA Pro menu that you are talking about?

By starting, I meant what video material are you starting with? SD or HD? Encoding used? How generated?
