Big trouble adding NewBlue FX plugs into MS 12

A couple of days ago I upgraded from MS11 to MS12, and have not been able to make the latter recognize my library of NewBlue FX plugins. I entered the directory into the first alternate field of the Preferences>VST Effects tab and "refreshed"...no plugins ever appear in any of the lists. I'm running the 64-bit version of MS12, but was also using the 64-bit version of MS11. Any ideas?

Additionally, the serial number associated with NewBlue FX on the extras disc consistently reports "bad serial number" when I try to install. Anyone else have this problem?

I've used Movie Studio starting with version 6 without any plug-in problems. I still have versions 9 and 11 installed on this computer, but prefer to not remove them in case I can't make MS12 fully functional.

From v12 Release Notes:
When using the 64-bit version of Movie Studio, third-party plug-ins will work only if they are 64-bit plug-ins. Please check with the plug-in vendor for available updates. You can share projects between 32- and 64-bit versions of Movie Studio installations, performing editing as needed in 32-bit Movie Studio and finishing the project in 64-bit Movie Studio.

Also note in Prefs.>VST Effects: Select VST effects to be available as .
As always, you could contact the very helpful NewBlueFX customer service direct.

The 64-bit version of MS12 will not see the 32-bit plugins bundled with the previous versions of MS. All previous versions of MS were 32-bit only and so the bundled plugins were only 32-bit.

For an issue with the MSPPS package bundled with SMS12, please contact NewBlue customer service and we can help you with that.

I had something similar..

I followed a free update path from MS12 to MovieStudio ver2

NewBlue FX worked okay, until I removed it, and tried to reinstall it.

Then it just said I'm not installing, you don't have MS12!

o_O so I installed a MS12 again!

Installing the MSPPS package does require that you have installed Movie Studio 12 and run it at least once. Then the MSPPS package bundled with SMS12 will install.
