Blockiness and pixelation issue

Pixelation is a known issue since NVENC HEVC appeared in VEGAS (Maybe from VEGAS 16).

Fix (for me) was the following:

Use Magix AVC/AAC MP4 encoder , instead of Magix HEVC/AAC MP4

Before Select Internet UHD 2160p 59.94fps (NVIDIA NVENC) preset click on "customise" template.

Important: Change the bitrates to equal values (both max and avg) to 60 000 000

Preset: High Quality + VBR High Quality

Thank you so much, this solved it. I think the main thing is setting bitrates to equal values, as soon as I did that blockiness was removed.

For anyone else who might be having this problem. If Sirdani's answer above does not work for you, try to use the Magix Intermediate or Sony XAVC (make sure you chose XAVC S Long) format. Overall, I found that both Magix AVC and HEVC (especially) are pretty problematic formats which cause a variety of issues, especially when you use higher resolutions.

I'd generally recommend MagixAVC with Mainconcept over their GPU accelerated counterparts like NVENC or Apple ProRes (Magix Intermediate is gone) if you are okay with larger file sizes.

I would also recommend starting a new thread. However, if you provide more details maybe I can help.

Are you using screen recorded footage or camera?

If it's a screen recorder which one?

Do you select VBR or CBR (both in the recording program and in Vegas)

Which Vegas version?

Which encoders have you tried?

What is the bitrate and of fps of the original file vs. the encoded file?

Which codec did you use when orginally recording?

As @RogerS said, start a new thread.
