Are you using DVD Architect Pro or DVD Architect Studio and which version?

Did you render your audio to a 5.1AC3 file from Vegas?

Steve,
I am using the non-pro version. Would this only be available in 'Pro'?

Dave,
All my audio files were rendered as 5.1 Surround. I spent LOTS of time mimicking the sounds even when I was burning regular DVD (and it worked fine). For the first time, I decided to try HD (or BD) and re-rendered them from Vegas Studio 11 Platinum. When I rendered to ACVHD (including audio) it played fine w/ 5.1 Surround on my WD Media Player.

The reason why I am using DVD-A now is because I wanted 'menu chapter', which I wasn't getting from these HD files. All my files are rendered under either Sony AVC 1920x1080 60i 16mbps, or MainConcept HD 1920x1080 60i. For the Audio, I use 'AC-3 5.1 Surround'. Somehow DVD-A shows 'Stereo mix-down' on properties and there no other option for changes.

Thanks VK, that pretty much answered it! This sucks because I would not go 'Pro' just because of it this, plus, also I'm not a heavy VMS user.

It's logical that there will be more features in a more expensive 'Pro' application from the same manufacturer - that's what the extra money is for. You might find other BD authoring programmes that do the job you want cheaper. TMPGEnc Authoring Works is worth checking out.

Correct me if I'm wrong but even if you try to use another authoring program it may not work. When you render the ac3 file out of Vegas you must choose the AC3-Pro codec. The AC3-Studio codec will not make a 5.1 Blu-Ray disc. I tried it.

Arthur.S.,
It is only logical IF I didn't have to pay over 500% more for a software -- which in turn only prevents my existing 5.1 Surround sound from down-mixing to 2-channels. Now if I relied heavily on Sony Vegas Pro as my bread & butter for making a living, then maybe, but I rarely even uses VMS 11 for that matter.

For the moment, I can still use Vegas 11 to render my file in HD with 5.1 Surround by using the 'make movie' button. The only thing I'm missing are the menu chapters. I rendered to 'AVCHD 1920x1080 60i w/ 5.1 Surround' as ISO file. It doesn't matter since I don't owned a Blu-Ray player. I use 'WD Live HUB' media player and it plays all my files flawlessly!

That is correct. The Studio codec version is not compliant with BluRay.

Since this is not possible with regular DVD-A, does anyone here know of an alternative (freeware) software that can maybe help me burn a BiD ISO file ready with Dolby 5.1 Surround?
