Blu-ray authoring tips in Vegas? (any version)

hi - I'm getting ready to create my first blurays; after doing 55+ dvds it's time to move up to high-def....

any tips/lessons learned when rendering from Vegas, using DVD-R for blurays, to keep in mind? Much appreciated; I'd like to avoid mistakes in render formats, bitrate for bluray playback, etc... thanks!

Search using my username.

Include search terms

Blu-ray
DVD-5
DVD-9
15 mbps

Hold bit rate to less than 15 mbps for dvd media. I used to do it all the time but as I've bought new Blu-ray players the process is more and more not supported. I use actual Blu-ray media, now.

I've burned a lot of blu-ray media to DVD. The latest version of DVD Architect don't allow you to burn to DVD. The work around its to create an ISO file with the blu-ray content, then use another piece of software to burn the ISO file to a DVD. You can store about 18 min of blu-ray content on a DVD. So far, most players I have used can play back the BD-DVD content just fine, but I suspect that could be an issue for some blu-ray players.

If you do a Search suggested above, you might start with this one. For me, it pretty much sums up the current situation re this option.

This thread is relevant as well with regard to Blu-ray...

thanks, much appreciated... as all new streaming content/tv shows are widescreen format, I'm moving away from regular dvd and interested in doing blurays....any "gotchas" or big errors to avoid, that any of you learned the hard way?

thx John... I remember w/dvd-rs there's a bitrate cap for max compability, wondering if same holds true for duplicated blurays.

Typo, I said dvd-r, I meant I'll be burning the master to regular 25Gb BD-R media.
