Blue FX Titler on Movie Studio vs Vegas Pro

I’m trying to decide between Vegas Pro and Movie Studio, and I'm a little confused about the features. The product comparison page says the Movie Studio Suite has the “NewBlueFX 3D title editor”. I downloaded a trial of the Movie Studio Suite, but for some reason, the installer installed the Platinum version, which turns out does have the NewBlueFX 3D title editor, even though the product comparison says the Platinum version does not have it. I also downloaded the trial version of Vegas Pro Suite, and it has the same BlueFx Titler with the same amount of presets even though the product page says that Vegas Pro has the NewBlueFX Titler Pro 5. Can anyone help decipher which software and which version has which BlueFX Titler because based on the trial versions, they are identical. What am I missing? Thank you in advance.

Trial versions of Vegas Movie Studio and Vegas Pro, do not give you access to bonus features like NBFX Titling programs. You only get access to them after you buy the product.

Vegas Movie Studio 14 Suite, includes Vegas Movie Studio 14 Platinum and Vegas DVD Architect, Music Maker, NBFX package, basic NBFX Titler, Hitfilm Toolkit and Sonic Fire Pro 6.

Vegas Movie Studio 14 Platinum includes Vegas Movie Studio 14 Platinum and Vegas DVD Architect, Music Maker & NewBlueFX package.

The version of Vegas Movie Studio you get when buying Platinum or Suite version, is the exact same version.

The version of NBFX Titler that comes with Vegas Movie Studio 14 Suite, is not the same version that comes with Vegas Pro 15 Suite! The version that comes with Vegas Movie Studio is very, very basic and dumbed down. If you would like access to the best version of NBFX Titler Pro, which I highly recommend, you need to buy Vegas Pro 15 Suite. This version is NBFX Titler Pro 5 - their best version!

Please also note, that all versions of Vegas Pro 15 (all 3), also come with Boris FX 3D Objects, which includes an advanced 3D Titling program, that is similar to NBFX Titler Pro 5. It is important to note, that NBFX Titler Pro 5 is lot easier to use, compared to Boris FX 3D titler program - that is based on my own experience.

Thank you for elaborating on this. Are there any other significant features that Vegas Pro has over the Movie Studio?

There are many significant features but what are important to others might not be so to you.

Both are available as 30 day trials so suggest you try both to see which suits your requirements.

As EricLNZ says it's always a good idea to test with the trials.

You can get an overview if you inspect the current comparison tables.

A bit out of date comparison (as VP 15 is out now with some new features) here.
