Boris plugin MS13 32bit

whope wrote on 1/23/2014, 7:54 AM
I bought MS 13, mainly for the Boris continuum plug-in. I installed the 32 bit version of MS 13 so that I can continue to use older plugins especially Cinescore.
The problem is that when I download the Boris plugin from the online store page, I can only get the 64 bit version. I accessed 2 download files mss13-bccunits_64bit.exe, and mss13-bccunits.exe Unfortunately both of these install the 64bit version. My OS is Win 8.1 64 bit.

Has anyone had this problem?

Bill

whope,
I didn't see a 32-bit Boris either. You could install the 64-bit MS 13 as well though.
From the Release notes:
"When using the 64-bit version of Movie Studio Platinum, third-party plug-ins will work only if they are 64-bit plug-ins. Please check with the plug-in vendor for available updates. You can share projects between 32- and 64-bit versions of Movie Studio Platinum installations, performing editing as needed in 32-bit Movie Studio Platinum and finishing the project in 64-bit Movie Studio Platinum."

Thanks for your reply.
I've tried your suggestion, but it seems to defeat the purpose of having a plugin - the workflow becomes complicated with the need for extra rendering of the stabilized clips. It's easier for me to use Mercalli (stand alone) as I've been doing.
I have contacted Sony Support and hopefully will get a reply.

Same issue for me as well.

I installed MS13 64bit first and it crashed and wouldn't open on my windows 8.1 64bit machine. Installed the 32 bit version and it works ok.

I then installed the Boris OFX plugins. They show up as installed on my computer, but they don't show up in MS13 32bit or MS12 64bit versions.

Curious what's up with the 64bit version of MS13 on my machine firstly and secondly why I'm not seeing the Boris OFX plugins.

Cheers,
Pete

c3hammer,
second first.
This Boris FX bundle seems to be 64-bit only, so the units don't show up in MSP 13 32-bit. The bundle is obviously not compatible with MSP 12 64-bit, I'm not seeing them either.

I don't know why your 64-bit MSP 13 does not open in Win8.1. In my Win 7 64-bit it's OK.

I can only get the 32 bit version of Movie Studio working on my 64 bit computer as well and can't use the Boris key effects either. All I get is "Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working" with the 64 bit version and the program closes. I hope Sony makes another installer available since this looks like it is a common problem.
Thanks!

Thanks vkmast

I uninstalled all my plug ins and started from scratch. I was able to get the 64 bit version of MS13 to work, but still don't see any Boris OFX plug ins available. Win8 shows them installed, but MS13 64bit doesn't seem to see them still.

Cheers,
Pete

c3,
did you try a reinstall of Boris?

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Boris plugins and they are now working! Go figure :)

It is saying that I only have 10 days left of the 15 day trial now though. Are the Boris OFX plugins really only a trial or is there something else going on with my crazy machine?

There's no serial number provided with my MS13 purchase so I'm not sure now.

The Boris noise reduction works amazingly well.

Cheers,
Pete

Pete - if you try and register them you will see two units (collections of plugins) with check marks - several of us have been told by Sony Support that the units will stay (that's what the check marks mean).
