BorisFX Continuum 3D Objects Unit confusion (?)

skyml wrote on 8/29/2017, 1:55 AM

So in Vegas Pro 14 I recall getting a bunch of BorisFX (BCC) plugins. When we upgrade to VP15, Magix is giving us a separate install "bonus" called Boris Continuum 3D Objects Unit.

But when you install the file and load VP15 what we see is the complete Boris Continuum Complete 10, not just the 3D unit. Now the real confusing part is that all these FX plugins are not available cluttering our already hard to navigate Video FX menu (shame Magix failed to give us the option to make our own favorites list or folder here for FX). There is no way of knowing what FX is working and which one is watermarked. But when you click on the license info it would appear that all units are being reported as licensed even though they are not.

The only ones I could see that are not water marked are:

- 3D Objects

- Match Move (Witness Protection only)

when we install the Boris add on it gives us the option supposedly to select which options to install, but Magix gave us this link to explain the process and the link doesn't work. http://rdir.magix.net/?page=FA926ZHTUFBQ

Anyone have anything yo add to this?

I do remember seeing, during the installation of V15 Suite, one of the plugins saying not all of the installed plugins were licensed when I went to register it, and it asked me if I wanted to remove those that did not have a license. Fearing that I may have not entered the code properly, I told it to leave them installed, but that may have been the point where you could have had those extras removed.

@skyml

Can you please confirm for me whether or not "BCC Title Studio" is active? Getting access to that which is normally part of BCC 3D objects unit would move me to upgrade. Nothing is clear regarding this on the sales pages.

Thank you, Marc

Thank you Skyml. That's good news as it seems like a capable title solution for Vegas including 2d titles.

Hello, I bought Vegas Pro 15 Suite. I've never owned Vegas Pro 14 so I'm not coming from an upgrade. I keep saying people talking about BCC plugins and Witness Protection effects but I don't seem to have any of those in my plugins when I look at the effects in Vegas Pro 15 Suite. I'm hoping someone can tell me definitively if Vegas Pro 15 suite comes with BCC Continuum or not if so help me to understand how I can obtain the plug in. I do remember having some trouble trying to activate a plug-in when I first installed Vegas Pro 15 Suite but I don't remember if it was the BCC plug in. When I go back to redownload Vegas Pro 15 Suite in order to try to install BCC Continuum I don't see it in my downloads. Which makes me ask a question, does this plugin have a different name.

The Boris Continuum 3D Objects Unit was "thrown in" with some purchases of VP15, or at least with upgrades to VP15:

I guess the serial number and download link for it would be in the acknowledgement email. The VP15 Suite download manager does not fetch it. Or you could try this download link: https://borisfx.com/downloads/?&product=Continuum&host=OFX If you install it, note fr0sty's comment above. You need to check a box to remove the other units that are not licensed, because it installs the lot.
