Brand new Effects user. Where do I start?

I recently upgraded to Vegas Post. I don't know the first thing. I read the built-in help. It wasn't helpful. The software seems to assume I already know how to use Vegas Effects. I don't. Tutorials online are seemingly scarce. The tutorial links on the official website are dead or take me in circles. How does one learn this software?

For the Effects side of the program specifically, this YouTube channel has been a lifesaver: FXhome - YouTube

Also this forum has lots of interesting things: Post-production techniques — FXhome Community

While Vegas Effects is a trimmed down version of FXHome's HitFilm Pro, keep in mind that Vegas Effects does not come with HitFilm Pro's 3rd party plugins such as Mocha HitFilm and the Foundry 3D Camera Tracker, so FXHome's HitFilm YT tutorials based on using those 3rd party plugins won't apply to Vegas Effects.
