Hmm. The most recent version of DVD Architect I could find on the Sony site was DVD Architect Pro 6. How did you get such an advanced version? ;)

That said, there are thousands of possible variations of AVI files. Do you know what codec those AVIs use? Where did these files come from? (If they came directly from a still camera, for instance, they're like MJPEG AVI files, which definitely will not work well in DVD Architect.)

Better yet, why not feed DVD Architect files optimized for DVD or BluRay instead? You'll get better, faster, much cleaner results.

I do have movie studio 8 and I do remember I could not open Mjpeg Formats in that and some one on this site had me Download a CODEC.

But I forget does this help?

I found out the codec the Video File is in it is
mpeg4 xViD

Is there a free codec that I can get so I can open it in DVD ARCH?

No. Xvid is a version of Divx, neither of which is an editable format.

You may not even be able to get the file to load right into a Movie Studio project. But, if you can, you can then output a DVD-ready Main Concept from Movie Studio for DVD Architect.

But Xvid and Divx are delivery formats. They are just not going to work as source videos.

Ok all is working I comverted my XviD file to MPEG and it opens in DVD ARCH. 4.5 Build 19 but when I go to Make DVD all goes good but when it goes to Burn it a window says
Please insert a writerable DVD.

The DVD is DVD - R and my Burner supports it and the disc is not filled or scratched because I just Burned some files to it by hand????????????

Uh, no. BluRay and high-def capability wasn't added to DVD Architect Studio until version 5.0.

No, DVD-R should work fine, but if you've already burnt files to a disc you won't be avle to use it to make a video DVD. Try a new disc.
