Can't burn blu ray

Wovian wrote on 1/2/2017, 6:32 AM

Hi Guys

I'm trying to burn a blu ray with DVDAP 5.2 on a new PC.  The burner is an LG BH16NS40. I'm using verbatim BD-RE discs which I have used successfully for years and are recommended by LG

However on clicking through to the "Finish" i.e. start the burn,  I get a message "Insert a writable disc". I don't believe there is any other blu ray  software on the PC.

What do you think the issue is here please?

Thanks

If you can, prepare in DVD A Pro 5.2 and burn with an external app such as the free ImgBurn.

Or try toggling "Use legacy disc drivers".

Note also: "Notable fixes/changes in version 5.2 (Build 133): Fixed a bug that could prevent Blu-ray Disc projects from preparing in some circumstances."

Didn't this crop up recently as one of cspvideo's problems and he solved it by erasing the BD-RE with Windows outside of DVDA so DVDA was presented with an empty disc.

Wovian - is your disc empty or does it need erasing?
