Can't Get Past Splash Screen.

I just bought Movie Studio Platinum 12 Suite and installed it on my computer. However, every time I try to run it, it gets to "initializing scripting" and then says "Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I looked around the forums and thought maybe it was quicktime but I have tried multiple versions, and tried having none at all but still always had the exact same error. I also tried running it as an administrator but that didn't help either. Lastly I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no help. Does anyone know how I could fix it?

I am on windows 7 64-bit.

By any chance do you have any NewBlue FX or Titler installed?

Yes, it came with the program so I installed it. Should I uninstall it?

There were problems with MSP 12 and NBFX Titler, especially with earlier builds of both.
The uninstall option might be worth checking.
"Reply by: jetdv, Date: 12/12/2012".

Be sure to use the current builds.
The current build of MSP 12 is 1184 (64-bit).
You can download it from here or your My Account/My Software.
The latest build of NBTitler for MSP 12 and 13 is (according to jetdv of NB)

I uninstalled everything, then reinstalled only the latest version of Movie Studio and I am still getting the same error.

Well, I just followed all those steps and am still having the issue.

Since you just bought it, you can try Online Chat to see if they will help you or you may have to Ask a Question. Click the Support link above then choose Technical Support.

I'll try live chat tomorrow. I submitted a question on Sunday and haven't heard anything.

Back about version 9 or 10 I bought Movie Studio, installed it and liked it for a few weeks. One day it refused to open. I spent several weeks trying everything I could. I gave up and switched to an Adobe product. A month later, Sony Support emailed that, besides a clean uninstall, I should create a new user for the re-install because the Registry was likely screwed up. I never tried it because I was down a new path.

You might try that. It might help.

(Why am I here you might ask? I bought 13 to explore 4K from a new camera.)
