When I thought I had it down loaded it wouldn't work. Its on CD and has been in the box for a couple of years. I am now using windows 10 and it said it didn't like it.
Are you using Vegas Movie Studio Plat 13? If you have a disk you are not downloading. What exactly is the message you get? And what exactly are you doing when you get it.
Hi EricLNZ I downloaded of of the internet as I thought I wasn't getting the full program. I also have a disc. I am very un pleased with this product as it is nothing like Windows Live Movie Maker which is unavailable for windows 10. I guess I just do not understand the program. I have been through tutorials including 2 on you tube.
I gather that you have now downloaded, installed and registered the program. You could start in "Simple Edit Mode" (see that option in the upper left corner of the window) and go through some basic tips there (in green boxes, click "?" upper right if you don't see them). The "Show Me How" button reveals some short basic tutorials for you to inspect. But @Dr Zen has an excellent tutorial here https://www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/sony-movie-studio-platinum/521-beginners-guide-movie-studio-platinum-13. Go through it if you haven't yet, it's worth it. The learning curve is not too bad even if it may see somewhat daunting at first.
Note that the last update (build) of the software can be downloaded here https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/product-downloads/. You can see the build of your installed version under Help > About Movie Studio Platinum. If it is 955 (last from Sony) or 987 (last from Magix), they are OK.
