Can't open DVD Architect on Windows 10

Ben-Gassel wrote on 1/18/2020, 6:43 AM

I am unable to open DVD Architect on my 64bit Windows 10 PC. So far I've tried: Soft-Rebooting my PC, Hard-Rebooting my PC, Opening the program in another compatibility mode, opening as administrator, uninstalling and reinstalling, and uninstalling and reinstalling in a separate directory. So far none of these methods have worked. The weird thing is when I open the program it shows up in the Background Processes section of Task Manager but the app never actually opens up. It doesn't show up on my Taskbar and no windows ever appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to run VEGAS DVD Architect 7.0 on Windows 10 Home, Version 1809, Build 17763.973

Do you get any error messages? I assume you kill the background processes before you try again.

No error messages, just get the loading circle icon around my cursor for a couple seconds and then nothing. And yes. I kill the process in task manager each time before changing a setting and trying again.

Anything in the Requirements that may affect (..NET Framework 4 e.g.?, see also this FAQ section 6.)?

My PC meets every requirement on the list (Im able to run Vegas Pro 17 with no issues). I also installed the latest version of .NET Framework 4 and Visual C++ Redistributables. Still not opening.

I assume you also noted the FAQ's (section 6) paragraphs about the need for .NET Framework 3.5. And had your anti-virus software temporarily turned off while trying to install.

Yes, I installed the newest version of .NET Framework 3.5 and I don't even have anti-virus software installed (Even though I probably should)
