Can't see what I'm doing when using a preset effect

ren-k wrote on 8/7/2018, 6:30 PM

It's weird to explain, but when I'm using a preset, it won't show what I'm doing as I'm doing it. It only shows the result after I've closed the preset window.

This is the first frame.

I've moved to the frame the effect is on, yet it won't show me what it looks like on the preview window.

Once I close the window, it shows me what it looks like. But if I'm not happy with it, I have to go back and open the preset and everything and it's very annoying.

Are my settings weird? Do I have something on that I should have off? Any ideas as to what I should/can do?

Try this thread and the links in vkmast's post.

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/fx-applied-not-showing-in-preview-window--109330/

I looked at that before I asked this question, and it seemed like restarting my SVP would help. Except that I can't do that.
When I hold down CTRL+Shift, and double click SVP, it just gives me the normal unknown publisher warning. It doesn't ask me if I want to delete all cache. I even made a direct shortcut to my desktop from the file location but that didn't work either. What do I do?

You probably don't need this, but this pops up instead of the option to clear my cache.

What happened when you clicked "yes" to the warning image you posted.

@ren-k Pls read https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-why-does-my-video-effect-fx-not-work-in-vegas-pro--111203/ section 2. (The FAQ was published some time after I posted the links mentioned above.)

As for resetting, pls read the instructions carefully to the letter. Check also that the window you must see to be able to place a checkmark is not hiding behind any other window. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/.This FAQ includes a link to an even more extensive article on resetting in the last paragraph there.

SVP opened like normal, with the issue still there.

You must be a God. The first link actually worked for me. I can't believe it. Thank you so much.

Thanks for coming back and confirming the solution. (The actual "god" is away for a while, but he'll be back.)
