Cannot import from DV camcorder in Vegas 19, Vegas 17 works fine

I just upgraded to Vegas 19 Pro and I use a DV camera plugged into a Firewire port. The software won't recognize the device is attached even though I know the computer knows it is. If I simply change back to Vegas 17, it "sees" the camera and will import video with no issue. This seems like a software issue. What can I do to Vegas 19 to get it to see the camera? I'm using Windows 10 pro and the system is 64 bit. As a work around, I import to Vegas 17 then copy the imported clips to another version of Vegas 19.

I never used Vegas to import my DV camera files a very long time ago.
I found than DVDate the best to import and save, the latest free version you can find here: https://paulglagla.com/en/dvdate-2/

AFAICR Vegas uses an external application called vidcap60 to capture DV. This application hasn't been updated since 2016 and still can be found in the Vegas 19 installation folder.

@Edward-Robold in VP 19 Options | Preferences | Deprecated Features do you have "Enable Video Capture" ticked?

Personally, I always liked capturing DV with Scenalyzer better. Plus, it's free now!
