I constantly use the SLIDE transition for text. (i.e. Slide in left to right) Each time I add it to the text, I have to change the length. I don't see a way to edit a default pre-set time. Any help? Latest Build. 157
You did not tell which program and build you are using but this is the way to go in VMS Platinum 15

Sorry but I don't know a slide transition not being a transition. Are you able to show what different transition you mean by "slide transition"?
@georgiaguy are you working with Text/Titles? Like from the Media Generator bin? And then are you animating the text to slide into view?
Presumably the OP is using one of the Slide presets in Vegas Titles & Text. It's not something I've ever used and playing around with it I cannot work out how to vary the slide speed anyway.
Further playing around and it appears animating the position is the answer to controlling the "slide". Having got it how you want it then save as a custom Preset for future use.

And this is how thats preset is made
Media Generator → then add text..... Stationary... Then add the Slide in and slide out to the text.... Front and back.... If the slide in and slide out are one second, you can drag that to say 1/2 second. Trying to get it to be 1/2 second as a default.

Selecting Text and Titles... use Default Text......... I then want that to slide in and slide out....... so I use a TRANSITION... SLIDE in on the front and SLIDE out on the end. However the SLIDES are very slow. So I reduce the time and drag the transition to about 1/2. That TRANSITION of slide is the one I want to change the default for or build my own. In the transition slide... properties there is no TIME.

You're on MEDIA GENERATORS... I'm not working with text that already has an effect. Using plain DEFAULT text from there... then adding a TRANSITION (slide) to the front and back of the plain text. However I want to change the LENGTH of the default TRANSITION. Otherwise I have to manually adjust each time.
Maybe this will help.
I have to add a slide in... and a slide out to each text. But that slide is too slow. So I drag it shorter.
Yes I know and after you made it shorter you are able to save this as a T&T preset.
Next time you use that preset to make your specific text you do not need to add those transitions anymore.
