Changing Interface color - MSP suite 15

michel-plante wrote on 3/25/2018, 4:54 PM

Hi,

Just bought and installed MSP 15 suite. I had the deal that included V. 14 refusing to install that version because of the very dark interface provided with no change options to a lighter shade. I'm claustrophobic, not very easy to work in the dark...I was hoping that V. 15 would have a choice of shades based on Vegas Pro 15 that had three options in that matter. After installation I was happy to see that MSP 15 did provide a change for a lighter shade. I was hoping for the V. 13 lighter shade of grey. Really disappointed to find out that the color I was hoping for was still pretty dark. But I still could get used to that type of interface.

The problem, and it's major as far as I'm concerned, is with the menus. Try and read the contents at a decent distance from your screen. So dark! You must scroll with the mouse to find, item per item, what you're looking for. I have no idea if there's a way in correcting this error, because if you can't see the content there is certainly an error or glitch with the choice of color used with the design of the app. at least for the menus.

I truly hope that there will be improvement in this matter.

Michel Plante

I'm also surprised that the "light" color scheme is as dark as it is, and certainly agree that the menu background should be paler.

Hi VK,

Happy to see you here. Great idea in posting the different versions of shades to demonstrate how easy it is to use V. 13's interface for example vs. V. 15 (2 shade options) which don't present any significant differences.

I do hope that some designers will stop and read these very pertinent posts...thanks for your support. I appreciate it a lot.

Have a nice day.

Michel

Hi Nick,

It's when you work with it that you realize how uncomfortable and tedious it is when you must use the menus. I will reinstall V. 13 with all of it's inconvenience, I got used top them during the years, at least you can see something.

Have a nice one.

Hi Vk,

Great news. Summer is not my favorite time for movie edition. More like putting good sights and sounds on the cam. Happy that you thought about my preoccupation with the color scheme and letting me know. Must I understand that there is a new build available on the Magix site?

Thanks again for this great news VK

Michel.

Hi Vk,

This is a follow up the the previous comment/answer. I wrote to ask you is there was an upgrade available because, being used to the sony Vegas site, I could easily see if there was or not an upgrade. This does not seem the case with Magix unless I'm not looking at the good place...in my case I went under ''downloads'' and found nothing.

Thanks again Vk.

Yes, build 146, see https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-movie-studio-15-update-2-build-135-146--112287/ for the patch notes and download link. @michel-plante

Hi VK,

I just DL the new build and I'm anxious to see the new look. thanks again for that. My question is where can I locate the new upgrades with Vegas products on Magix. I attached a picture of where I went to find this info to no avail. I seldom visit the Magix site and if you had not told me of this new build I doubt that I would have known about it.

So I went on Downloads and Vegas Movie Platinum and found nothing that was pertinent with what I was looking for? Is this info provided on Derek's forum?

Thanks for your help VK.

Michel

Hi @michel-plante to be certain to keep up with the updates you still currently need to periodically check Vegas Forum > News, Patches section. The latest build/update info is published in Important Posts there around the time of the release date and stays pinned at least for some time. It may be unpinned later and can then be found in Posts there. (The MSZ forum's Announcements category has a pinned post linking to here as well.)

Interestingly, a Vegas News pop-up window and Online Help > Check for News in my VP 15 b361 and VMS15P b116 informed about the new builds/updates on one of my two computers but not on the other. Both have Use Newsfeed in Preferences checked. AFAIK, they are working to have an updater feature added into VEGAS in the not too distant future.

Hi VK,

Just installed my new version of MSP 15 with the color scheme corrected in the same way it was with version 13. Great! This patch was made with good speed and I appreciate that a lot. I do not know if you are in contact with the persons responsible for this upgrade but if you are, please transmit my most sincere thanks for this...really appreciate it VK.

Have a nice day

Michel
