Choice between 16 and 17 Platinum - which to choose

Hi,

recently I decided to buy the Movie Studio Platinum 17. I've been using the trial version for some time and I liked the software. When I was jusst going to make the purchase I found an offer at the Polish distributors with a very attractive price for the version 16.

As the trial for 16 is no longer available, I was wondering - how big is the difference between Movie Studio Platinum 16 and 17? Because the price for 16 is just half the price of 17. Could you give me advice which option to choose?

Thanks for your help!

VMS16P for 149zl = ~36USD very very good deal if you just migrate to VMS.

That's why it is so hard to decide. And where I hesitate most is VMS Suite 16 for 250 zl vs VMS Platinum 17 for ~300 zl.

What is you experience with Video Editing? What software you use now?

I'm just a beginner in video editing, but I'm an acoustic engineer and I also have quite a big experience in photography.

That's why a more complicated interface and wide choice of effects and plugins is not something that overwhelms me, but it is rather an advantage and I usually know how to use it.

I've tried out some software, but Vegas was definitely most flawless onmy computer which is not a performance beast. And I liked the interface - the VMS seemed poor, but the Platinum made a good impression.

If so, surly start with the 149zl VMS16P deal, FX's are just toys you will get board very quickly as they need very demanding computer.

Look at it this way, you will save ~150zl now but if you will enjoy VMS so much and want to upgrade to VMS18 next year it still will cost you 300zl but no... only 150...

And if you will find that video editing is not for you, you still saved 150zl for beer.

I think it's a reasonable solution. And how it looks with uprages prices? Fo example, if I'd like to upgrade to 18 next year it will be around 50€?

upgrade is usually ~60$ April-july and can go down to 50$ ~Jan-feb.
