Clip Image in Timeline

Admittedly, this is a personal preference but is there an option someone can point out to me that I can change so that my image does not completely fill in the timeline? I just upgraded from 11 to 13.

In 11, let's say my clip is a still image for 10 seconds. The image appeared in the timeline followed by some grey space. In 13, the image repeats on the timeline over and over. I am wanting to not have the image repeat on the timeline.

Thanks!

There are some limited settings options for thumbnail display in Preferences.

May I ask also..?
Normally I, ID each clip ( Cntrl + I, I think ), -but it puts the file-number at the very start of each clip on the Timeline - so it's difficult to see the fade-in ICON ( in SMS v12 ),
I would like it to be displaced a little further along - half-way is too far, but at 5-sec would help most clips, since a 5-sec clip is fairly rare on my Timeline.

Any thoughts, -or is this something for the Software Group to work on?

Generated Media....Oh and whilst they are at it, could they stop padding out Text ID with "Sony..." - as I need to know the style and Text-clip Number . . . . I'm well aware it's a Sony Editor.

UK,
as (S)MS Platinum 12 (which you have) will not have any more updates, you would need to upgrade to v 13, which adds the Fade tool with fade in/out handles at the top of the event.
If you do not want to upgrade, right-click the track header, then click Expand Track Layers and Fade-in is much easier. You could also toggle Ctrl+Shift+I (also View menu > Active Take Information), but I assume you don't like that.
You could also Zoom In/Out Time (+/-) or drag the edges of the Horizontal scroll bar to your liking to see even the long IDs in full.
