If you read the above post from Wolfgang, he wrote that ac3pro plugin can be used in dvda7. I test this by copying the ac3pro plugin from dvda52 folder to dvda7 folder and renaming it. End up with an error.
Then I made a 2nd test, completely different as describe above.
And of course, I only replace and rename the dll...
but in the wrong folder!
GJeffrey: I test this by copying the ac3pro plugin from dvda52 folder to dvda7 folder and renaming it.
Cornico: To overcome misunderstanding:
1. Copy the file ac3plug.dll from your C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 13.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\ac3plug 2. Rename it to ac3studioplug.dll 3. Change this file with the ac3studioplug.dll from your C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0\FileIO PlugIns\ac3studioplug.
Just a note. Every time you update VP14 to a new build. You will need to do the mods again to get AC3 PRO back.

I have installed Windows 10 to a new system and installed any updates, have then installed only Vegas Pro 14 and DVD Architect 7 (not 13 Pro). Then went and installed the old Vegas Pro 13 ac3 plugin (had backed up a copy) as the instructions with renaming and installing only into Vegas folder. Now in Vegas when I select Render As, AC3 is not even listed, the original Vegas Pro 14 ac3studioplug was listed.
There is no point of installing DVDA-7. There is nothing new in dvda-7, other than rebranded and remove ac3 -pro .. I now keep dvda-7 off my computer. I am happily stick with dvda-6.
I currently use Vegas 12 and DVD-A 6 and I'd like to move to Vegas Edit 14 and keep DVD-6. Would this trick work to keep AC3 Pro export? Does it also keep all options?

Nick, was your interpretation this : "Unfortunately we had a little issue with exporting multichannel audio in Dolby, we apologize for that and wish to reassure you that it will be fixed with the next update expected for mid/end April 2017. Also your statement about the many codecs that we allegedly dropped out of the compatibility list is not correct, again, the only codec that we dropped is Pro Dolby Encoder which is [?] been replaced from [?] Consumer dolby Encoder."
My interpretation was that an issue with multichannel audio in Dolby, not cost, was the reason for dropping the AC-3 Pro codec, and that a forthcoming update is going to restore AC-3>DVDA functionality.
The last bit might be hopeful. Not a lot of point in speculating too much. I just thought it was worth sharing.
Perhaps when VP 14 is installed, it overwrites (uninstalls/reinstalls) the Dolby shared plug-ins. As I recall AC-3 Pro encoder was installed along with DVD Arc pro, not VP.
AC-3 Pro is still available here in VP10, 12 and 13. VP14 was installed after them and is updated to build 252. I also have DVDA 5.2 and 7.0 installed.
