I'm a happy VMS user for many versions of the software, and my system is anemic compared with yours, and I'm not an expert, so my comment isn't about the software.

My comment (and I'll say in advance I'm not big on being "politically correct") is about your derogatory use of the word "retarded." As the incredibly proud dad of a beautiful, talented, funny, bright 19 year old daughter with Down syndrome, my wish for you is that your software experience be as wonderful as our life has been with our "retarded" child.

ericlast,
Search the OP's username on Google.
;?)

The OP is big into gaming so I suspect some .dll is conflicting with VMS. Or based on one post I found, overclocking could be it as well (turning it off help Julio). But if the OP doesn't want to entertain the idea of turning off GPU accel to test, can't help much.

Thanks for the tip ---great understanding.

Just hope perhaps eyes were opened a bit from my comment.

Well, honestly, I've known and worked with developmentally disabled teens for over fifteen years, and I've still let the "lame" metaphor slip out on rare occasions. Regrettable when it happens; but actually, they're pretty forgiving when they know it wasn't intentionally hurtful. I'm sure your daughter is a delight to know, and that you wouldn't have her any other way.

Mhm.

Definition of retarded: "less advanced in mental, physical, or social development than is usual for one's age."

The file was retarded, not up to spec, not functioning the way it should, etc. I never called anyone a retard now did I? Ok, thank goodness we could settle that so easily.

Yes, that is my youtube channel. www.youtube.com/iibetrayforar Spam dislike all my videos, I do this for fun, not to make money for anything.

My CPU is not overclocked, my GPU is overclocked out of the box and in all the time I have been using it I have never had a problem. I did disable GPU rendering, and it did the same thing lol.

I am in high school, in fact a school district that is VERY accepting of disabled/special education ed kids. I see them all the time. People get very pissy about mere words sometimes, some people, especially on the internet need to grow some thicker skin. If I offended you I'm sorry, I didn't direct it towards you or even another person.

Anyway, like I said feel free to attack my youtube channel, call me a low life scumbag, whatever you please. If it makes you feel better it won't hurt me. My skin is very thick.

Switched off GPU acceleration everywhere I could and it rendered the video...

So after all the protests, you now have a clue (drivers).

"People get very pissy about mere words sometimes, some people, especially on the internet need to grow some thicker skin."
Seeing as you're in high school, why didn't you just call the file "g-a-y" and be done with it?
;?)

"My skin is very thick."
Does the number of bans on other sites have anything to do with that?

Lemme think, bans on other sites... I can't think of any total bans, though on PCPartPicker.com I have been told to refrain from saying how a truly feel about people's builds a few times hehe...

Don't encourage me! :P No, I try to not call things gay, I have no problems with homosexuals, if there was a vote I could vote in I would totally support LGBT rights.

Which is rather disappointing because there is no way you are going to get me to roll back my drivers to like 12.5 or something that might be slightly compatible with Vegas. in game performance>Extra Vegas perfomance

Your choice if you prioritize game performance.
Several posters here have tried to help your editing experience.
iiBetrayforAR wrote on 9/7/2013, 7:42 AM
I thank you all for your help. But unfotuntaley you guys can't fix Vegas only Sony can. :|

Anyway its not like my CPU doesnt have the beef, but using the GPU would certainly make my experience better.
musicvid10 wrote on 9/7/2013, 9:15 AM
You came in asking for help to "figure this out," refused almost every piece of advice given, were given a simple workaround to use temporarily while you sort through your driver issues, and have failed to establish there is anything wrong except your system configuration, to which you stubbornly cling.

How could you possibly expect Sony to drop everything and issue a hotfix for every set of

I'll give you a surefire solution, based on two decades of experience, one that gets you off the hook:
Don't use a Nonlinear Editor on a gaming machine..

That way you don't have to worry about maintaining tip-top gaming drivers and stable editing performance at the same time. And rest assured, your latest, greatest, most favorite GPU drivers will eventually be supported by Sony.

What you've done is placed yourself at crossed purposes, and chosen to blame the software when it turns out your attitude may be the only thing that needs to be fixed.

I'm definitely not a software engineer, however my understanding that is ever since the 13.1 drivers (Released late January I believe) nothing massive has changed, no huge reprogramming. They are basically the same drivers with maybe an average of 10% better performance in most games. The 13.8 BETA drivers largely fix the frame pacing issues, making them fantastic. Once again, I'm not a computer software engineer, but if none of the compatibility with games has changed I would think the same goes for Vegas, right?

I'm new to his fancy video editing software, and while complexity is great, can't they have basic and simple functionality? Like when I'm importing media and a file that was messed up by me not stopping the recording before closing game couldn't it just say "Uh-oh something is wrong with Vegas or your file!" instead of just freezing and crashing. Maybe I should become a software engineer. It is quite possible I could teach Sony a thing or two about basic functionality LOL!
musicvid10 wrote on 9/7/2013, 2:07 PM
Or it's equally possible you could learn a thing or two about basic humility.
Sony (or anyone here) is not responsible for your acquisition workflow.
AMD 13.8 drivers were released several months after Movie Studio Build 895/896.
Done.
