Creating Credits/Text/Titling at the Beginning and End of Movies

brentnhunter7 wrote on 11/28/2022, 11:20 PM

Hello,

I just upgraded my Windows 11 Sony Vegas Pro app from v15 to v20.  In the past, since I don't do it often, I always have a hard time when trying to create credits/text/titling.  I'm hoping version 20 will be easier and more intuitive than version 15 was.  Do you have a web page or article/document that describes how to create credits/text/titling? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Brent

The native titling options in Vegas Pro 20 are fairly much the same as those that were available in Vegas Pro 15.

Do you have a web page or article/document that describes how to create credits/text/titling?

Have a look at YouTube posts using keywords such as, "titles in vegas pro" and you will get a number of tutorials by various Vegas Pro users: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=titles+in+vegas+pro

But you've posted this under the Vegas Effects category suggesting that you have Vegas Post which is the only Vegas Pro package that has the Vegas Effects product. Titling options that may be available in Vegas Effects will be different to those available in Vegas Pro 20. Any titling available in Vegas Effects would likely be the same as in HitFilm Pro (by FXHome) as Vegas Effects is a trimmed down version of HitFilm Pro. In this case, search FXHome's YouTube channel for tutorials on HitFilm titling: https://www.youtube.com/c/FXhome/featured

BTW, neither Vegas Pro 15 or 20 are Sony Vegas Pro, the last Vegas Pro version released by Sony being Vegas Pro 13 some 9 years ago - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/sony-vegas-vs-vegas--119881/

Thank you, Dexcon. In that case, I accidentally posted this question in the wrong place. Is there any way to get this moved to the right place? Where should it be moved to?

Also, I had no idea that Sony Vegas Pro is no longer owned by Sony? Did Magix purchase it from Sony?

Thank you!

A moderator will probably move it to the "Video" category.

Did Magix purchase it from Sony?

Hmmm... if you have had Vegas from 15-20, you would have had to notice that Sony was nowhere to be found in anything, from website to purchasing, to getting a receipt with purchase and download information.

Thanks. Good to know that Magix purchased Sony Vegas. I don't use the app very often and I only recently upgraded from v15 to v20.

Can anyone point me to user documentation in addition to looking for YouTube videos?

Does anyone know if any "plugins" or "extensions" or capabilities that can be purchased to create easier and more fancy titles? I love VEGAS PRO, but it's the one thing I always seem to struggle with. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

3POINT wrote on 11/29/2022, 1:35 PM

Creating fancy Titles in Vegas is possible when using the Protype Titler in Vegas (which is unfortunately hidden in VP20). Another possibility is to use/buy Title templates created by others, for example take a look at Vegasaur.com .

There is Newblue FX Titler Pro 7 and BorisFX Title Studio. You will have to spend time with either one to learn how to use it. They come with lots of templates too. But, they aren't cheap. If you can wait for Christmas, they will probably be back on sale. I have both, but find NBFX Titler Pro 7 easier to use. Others I know find BorisFX easier to use.
