default fade in movie studio 12 on win 7

How to set a default fade for the audio.  The video fade is just what I usually want. ie slow start/slow finish but the audio fade defaults to fast start/slow finish with slow start/fast finish  at the other end; and to get what I want I have to reset each one individually, rather a bind when there are several hundred events in a project.  Does anyone know of a way to reset the default?

But Cornico that only sets a default length not the fade type which is what Harry wants to alter.  And clicking on the fade corner for each clip is again what he wants to avoid.  There doesn't appear in MS12 to be any way of setting the default fade type for audio or video.

Thanks Cornico for trying but EricLNZ has interpreted my question perfectly, unfortunately, though I failed to use the word "type".  I followed the route, just in case one of you had missed something but no, it seems that EricLNZ is correct.  Thanks to both of you, maybe someone knows something that none of us has spotted and will put us all right.  I do hope so as it really is a nuisance having to reset every one.

I don't know if MS13 is any different but look forward to MS14 to see what it has.  But if it doesn't have any means of setting default audio and video transition types then it's something to add to the suggestion list for Magix.

If they understand what you mean, Eric.  A couple of years or so ago, I was asking the Sony tech support people about this very subject and it was quite plain that she had not a clue what I was talking about, so I gave up.  Anyway, fingers crossed and maybe you will be good enough to keep me posted with what you find.  Thanks.

I had a look at the hidden 'Internal' pane in Options/Preferences but couldn't find anything useful.

I wonder if you can set a default in Vegas?  I realise MS is a cut down version of Vegas but I sometimes feel that when SCS took the scissors to Vegas they took out some simple things us non pros need and left in things we don't need.

You could well be right, Eric.  I have to say that there are lots of "features" I do not use and I occasionally wish for others that are not there.

However, I know it is very good. My daughter, who is a professional videographer and normally uses Final Cut Pro; when her Mac died on her and she had to make a movie on a train journey for a job interview and used my copy on her Mum's laptop, reckoned it was very good indeed.  She got the job.

You can. This is from VP14:

(Sony) Movie Studio Platinum 12 (or 13) does not have the External Control&Automation tab in Preferences.

Only in VPro as in Nick's shot.

Lost cause, then.  Thanks all
