Default in Render not working

No matter what I do in the Render menu (match video, Favorites, etc.) Vegas just goes to where it likes.
It used to go back to my last settings - but no more.
I'm sure I just have to clear the defaults or some other setting.
Any help here?

What version of the software are you using? What's your operating system? Has anything changed since your last successful use of the program?

It's the latest version Vegas Pro 13.
Windows 7

The renders work fine. It's just that when I'm done rendering a file (let's say to an AVI master), the program doesn't return to AVI.
Rather it goes wherever it feels like (MPEG2).

It's aggravating.

Anyway, if it's not working for you as earlier, maybe a reset?

Are you selecting the "advance render options?" This usually saves it for me the settings for me. The auto settings appear random, however, the advanced settings revert to last used.

Note that the OP is using VPro 13. The "Render as" there is similar to MSPlatinum 12, not to MSP 13, so no "Advanced options". You go straight to the templates.
