I've had this problem occasionally, but usually I am in the heat of a deadline and haven't had the chance to ask around about it.
I have a project where a colleague had worked on it, and I kept doing playback and hearing a strange sound I could not ID on the timeline.
No matter what I heard it, so I looked and noticed that one track was not visible, nor could it be "expanded", as it wasn't collapsed, either.
i selected ALL the events on the timeline using a keyboard shortcut, copied and pasted it to a new project, and viola, the track appears.
I didn't know of an option to completely HIDE a track. Is this something I have missed and inadvertently activated?
FIRST PROJECT
SECOND PROJECT
thanks
