Dragging multiple files to timeline

Lets say I have 10 video clips to add to the time line. When I open the explorer, the 10 items are listed from #1(lowest) at the bottom of the list to #10 (highest) at the top of the list. In my old version 6 I just selected all of the files, then left clicked on #1 and dragged them to the time line. Each file was in sequence from the first file to the last file. However, in version 12 that does not work. It puts #1 file first then #10 followed by 9,8, 7,6 etc. not the correct order as I recorded them. I have tried everything I can think of . What am I doing wrong. How do I get the files to be in the correct sequence? I tried selecting all the files, right click, drag to time line, select 'add across time line" and the clips are just not in the correct order. Each time the first file number is first followed by the last, next to last etc. Please add vise on how to get the sequence in order from the first to the last. I'm getting tired of putting them on the timeline one at a time. Thanks.

I'd recommend that when you list your files in alpha-numeric order, instead of calling them 1, 2, 3,...10, etc., you call them 001, 002, 003,...010, etc. This will prevent the misinterpretation of the file order you're seeing.

That is how they are I just didn't put all the '000' in my questions. My videos are from 00000 etc to what ever, say 10. But I still have the problem. If I import all the media into the bins first, then select all the files, drag the 00001 first, then they are placed on the time line in the correct order. But if I chose to use the explorer tab, and do the same thing, the first file becomes the last on the timeline, the last files first . Doesn't make sense to me.

Retired,
your workflow gives the same order in my v12, 11 and 10.

Could you possibly work around this by clicking "Name" heading and reversing the order in Explorer. After that click the highest file and drag to the timeline. It should give you the order you want, if you don't want to go through Project Media.
