DVD Architect 7.0

Aloha all y'all...
I haven't been around much because I haven't needed help until now...
I would like to find the AC3 encoder/conversion program... it appears when I try to render in AC3 for the audio...
It tells me I need a converter... (LOL)
Either I don't have it - I don't ever remember downloading it...
OR need to find it for downloading.
Trying to burn the video and audio separately BEFORE opening it in DVDA... I get the video fine... but it appears to balk at the audio... hmmm...

After all these years...

I'm not sure what your problem is. My DVDA7 happily converts Wav to AC3. Is that what you are trying to do?

Thanks EricLNZ...

I tried it once ... rendering video and audio separately as Gary Reb (not to be confused with Johnny Reb) once recommended... and I think I misunderstood the response to my first and only attempt...
I think I'll delete this thread until such time as I can articulate the problem more specifically...
I'm hoping deleting my original post won't kill it on your end... but here goes...

Re transcoding, see here and here.

Btw, I'm not aware of a "Gary Reb" here. Instead, there is gary-rebholz here. You can read about his job in his profile.

Until version 14, vegas had two audio encoders: AC3 Pro and AC3 Studio.

Vegas 15 or higher has only the AC3 Studio encoder

DVD Architect 7.0 now supports natively the AC3 Studio encoder rendered in Vegas instead of the AC3 Pro. The only downside is that, only in Vegas Pro 18, the AC3 Studio encoder render only stereo audio. It is no longer possible to render 5.1 audio.

I don't know about DVDA7 but the Sony releases of DVDA 6 and DVDA 5.2 definitely have AC3 5.1 Pro.

... does it render only stereo audio. 5.1 audio

That's a bit confusing. Stereo is 2.0 but 5.1 is surround sound. Stereo is not 5.1.

Aloha EricLNZ and the rest of y'all...
I've viewed this video about a dozen times and just today noticed that it was produced at least 8 years ago...
It was posted on YouTube by a fella named Nelson4JesusChrist... 8 years ago.
I have not visited his site, but so enjoyed the technique, I'm watching it over and over trying understand the techniques...
From the video, I believe the VEGAS Pro v. 10 is matched with DVDA v. 5.2...
Gary indicates rendering the video and audio separately from VEGAS Pro BEFORE opening the project in DVDA. I guess that can still be done... except the AC3 part is no longer bundled with VEGAS of any flavor, from what you guys are telling me... oh well, that's the end of that...
* * *
I do love the technique for making invisible buttons and creating one's own themes... I hope that part still exists.
It appears so to this point in the project... (grin)
* * *
BTW, I was just trying to make a joke about the Gary's name, and me, now living in the south, from Maui...
As serious as y'all might be about making videos, y'all still do have a sense of humor, yes?
Then again, I do see a hint of a smile... so perhaps, all is not lost.

Until that time. . .
