DVD Option not available

I have searched some of the forums and could not find what I am looking for. I have Vegas Movie Studio HD 11 and I have downloaded and installed the latest update that was available on this website. when I select "Make movie" the option to burn it to a DVD or BLU-Ray is not there. I only have 4 possible selections You tube, online, camera or hard drive. I have viewed the tutorials and all of them show the option to burn to a DVD. It recognizes my DVD drive becasue if i select "Burn Disc" under "Tools" it tells me I have a DVD-RW in the drive and it wants a CD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I Just installed this program and my wife is desparately trying to make a movie.

Thanks.

It sounds like you have not installed DVD Architect, which is the authoring program.
It is either on your installation disc, or in the downloads section of this website.

Hi.

Also, see the Vegas family comparison to get a quick overview what you can do with different products.

You probably have the basic version, which lacks many of the features.

I learned some video editing using Adobe Premiere 4.x many years ago. They actually had a real printed owners manual you could look up questions in. Maybe just maybe if Sony would include a printed manual instead of just a Help files which never seem to have the answer you need and a PDF manual a lot of the questions would not be posted here?

I am thinking about taking the above PDF file to the local copy center to get one printed.

Might be cheaper to order a copy of my book on Amazon, if you're looking for a step-by-step how-to guide. ;)

Per the main Vegas page, http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegassoftware and the manual http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/manuals/moviestudiohd

making DVDs is available only with the Platinum version.

That being the case, not needing DVD capability often enough to justify the additional cost of Platinum, is there a free DVD authoring application somewhere?
