Effects don't apply when moving sliders.

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I live in Belgium.

I have Vegas Movie Studio Platinium 14 build 105 installed on a HP laptop with I7 procecessor and 16 GB ram.

Everything works fine. But now I have some movies in wich I would like to apply brightness and/or contrast.

I have watched many tutorial on Youtube, I get the pop-up screen with the sliders but nothing changes when I move the sliders.

Can someone please help and tell me why there is nothing changing when I move the sliders?

Is there something I heve to setup first?

Thanks in advance and many greetings.

Suggest you update to Build 122 although it won't affect your problem.

You should see the change occur in the preview pane. Obviously the timeline marker needs to be on the clip you are applying the effect to so it appears in the preview pane.

And if you keyframe, from online (F1) Help: "In they keyframe controller, click to position the cursor where you want the effect to start. Tip: Select the Sync Cursor button to synchronize the cursor positions on the main timeline and Keyframe Controller timeline."

The OP should also check that the infamous Split Screen button above the Preview window is not active. It's almost impossible to tell. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/fx-filter-which-doesn-t-work--106851/

@vkmast And it should serve as a reminder to those that upgraded from previous Movie Studio versions. The Split Screen button is a new addition to Movie Studio (so it is now a good thing to check first in the what's wrong troubleshooting category) 😀

Your comment re: Use the sync cursor is a good one. My guess is that's the right solution.

It was the split screen button that caused the problem.

Thank You all very much for the help.

Greetings,

Salleke.

Given the problems this button causes perhaps Magix should highlight it red!
