error code -5

I'm trying to license my VEGAS Pro 18.0 software having just installed it, but it's not working. Whenever I start the program, it says "Error code: -5" and, after clicking OK, "An error occurred starting VEGAS Pro. There is no license to use this software."

I have a Serial number, but seemingly no way to input it. What am I doing wrong? Is there another way to input my serial number besides starting the software normally? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled VEGAS Pro with no effect.

As the advice here from a VEGAS team member (uninstall the software, redownload it and install it again) does not seem to have helped, you may need to Ask Support (links in the same thread).

I reinstalled it again, and that fixed it. Not sure why the reinstallation didn't work the first time, sorry for bugging you!
