Event duration - still images

I have 675 still images on my timeline (timelapse) and I would like to change the duration of all the events. I know I can set the default still image length in the Preferences> Editing dialog, but I don't know to choose a duration of an event once it's on a timeline. I know I can change the length of the event by dragging the edge of the event, but I want to set it to a precise amount and - if possible - I'd like to do them all at once. Any ideas?

JohnnyRoy's "SetEventLengthAndCrossfade.js" script does exactly what you want to do. I think you can also do this with Excalibur and Ultimate S.

If you can't find the script, I still have it, although JohnnyRoy has the ultimate say as to whether I can post it.

Grouping or selecting all of them doesn't work. Only the last event stretches which is not what I want.

"Grouping or selecting all of them doesn't work. Only the last event stretches which is not what I want."

You are likely missing a step.

Place the cursor on the first photo.

Right click, In the context menu: Select Events to the End.

Right Click, Group / Create New.

Control + drag the end of the last photo.

It may not be enough shrinkage, but it does work.

The "hard-wired" version of JR's script is still posted here on this site. You said you wanted the ability to set the duration and overlap exactly, and this script will do that. Here is the link:

Timeline Tools includes this feature. It was specifically designed to create slideshow projects. This video shows how to use Timeline Tools to automatically layout your image Events to create different types of slideshows.

@Angelred this was/is a Vegas Pro thread and only john_dennis's advice works in your Movie Studio (as advised in your own thread).
