Font somehow corrupted?

FUFFIN wrote on 9/19/2020, 2:58 AM

So I was trying to add a font I typically use for subtitles in my videos. But when I tried using it the font was fine in the text screen but not on the video. I've seen this issue before with people and they say to use the legacy text. I personally don't like the look of the legacy so i was trying to figure out if I can fix this problem. The weird thing is that this just randomly happened and my old projects are also effected (something that people have not had happen). So im wondering if there is a problem with my text generator and if it can be fixed or if im just out of luck and going to have to bite the bullet on this. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative. Just in case I need to take clips from old projects I don't want to redo ALL my subtitles :(.

the first one with the cartoon look is my desired text, the second one if my CURRENT outcome after the corruption.

When you say "fine in the text screen but not on the video" do you mean it showed up correct in the preview window but not when you rendered out your video?

It's a known issue of Titles & Text. Use one of Vegas Pro's other titlers instead.

@Marco. What triggers this? I've been using a variety of custom fonts for years and have literally never had this happen.

You've just been lucky. It's just a few fonts that are affected.

Yes exactly the case. The titles preview window has the desired font but the result is the default verdana font instead of the custom one on the screen itself. I would prefer to just use the titles and text if it works because I have various presets for them specifically that don't transfer over to the legacy window. As for triggers I'm not sure I was doing a bunch of stuff on my computer in the days leading up to subtitling the most recent project tonight

That's why I almost never use Titles & Text.

You're probably out of luck then. What you could do is looking for a different font which works fine in Titles & Text and which looks similar to the one you want to use.
