The online Help does not mention options to change defaults in the status bar. You can right-click on the lower right corner box(es) to choose Time & Frames and you'll see Play Position in the first box during playback. (And if you really want to see that nearer to your Preview, you might uncheck Display timeline at bottom of main window in Prefs.>Display.)

Btw., try right-clicking and you'll often be surprised to find options. E.g. Time Display and Time Ruler will show other time format options.

Thanks, yes I explore right "clicks" all the time on new software. I don't see any point of keep showing frames count right in the middle of the workspace if one don't need that info. If it was on the top it was OK. another small black dot for VMS.

As the Help file screenshot says you can hide the status bar. And if you need to check the info on "Project", there's the Project Video Properties button above the Preview Window.
