FX applied not showing in Preview Window

Any VFX applied to timeline does not immediately show. Any change to the parameters in the effects editor also does not show up till you close the effects editor window. Split screen button not enabled. Vegas Pro 15 running on Win 10. It was working well earlier. Please help
