General differences between all VEGAS tiers?

I'm planning to upgrade from VMS15P to a higher tier this Xmas. The problem is, the only things that are mentioned on the product comparison page are all the features in the new version (as I type this, 16 for Pro trio and 15 for MS trio).

My question is this: what are the general, major differences between all these tiers across all the versions? For example: the only problem I have with VMS15P is it's lack of freeform masking. How much higher do I need to go to get that? Can I just get VMS15S or do I need to go Pro?

PS: "Tier" = "Edit", "Platinum", "Suite"; "Version" = 16, 15, 14, etc.

VMS15S is VMS15P plus extras. The editing programme is the same. You will need to go up to Vegas Pro to get what you want.

Which one? Pro Edit, Pro or Pro Suite? Also, you didn't answer my original question.

@dan9er I get Pro Edit. The only thing it is missing is the DVD Architect Pro, but that really has not been updated in years, so the older version works just fine for burning DVD and BluRays. Be careful about the bundled software you get with the Suite as it may not work when you upgrade. I purchased BCC from Boris FX, so I didn't have issues when I upgraded to VP Edit v13, v14, v15, and v16.

I see Magix removed Boris from the upgrade offer and instead have NewBlue FX Elements 3 Ultimate. Glad they did that. I did not want any conflicts with VP15 Suite and the Boris BCC 3D in it. So I upgraded to VP16 Suite. Everything is there and working just fine.

I got VPE15 via the Humble Bundle.

If you got VPEdit 15 via the recent HumbleBundle deal, you also got Vegas DVD Architect 7. This is pretty much the same as the "regular" VPro without some extra plugins included often in the Magix' own special offers. The HB deal included also HitFilm ME, which has been in some Magix deals as well.
