get all my effects into PRO 12?

wwjd wrote on 11/9/2012, 7:53 PM
I bought and own: Movie Studio HD Platinum 11, Pro 11, and Pro 12.
Movie Studio comes with some free NewBlueFX effects that are not showing in Pro12 now. I'm pretty sure I had them all showing in 11, but the 11s were 32 bit. I'd rather not have to go process files in STUDIO just to get to the effects it came with... anyway to get Pro12 to recognize them?

I tried copy pasting them into Pro12 directies with no luck.
Can't find an options setting to add effects or FX directories.
Any ideas?

If I'm stuck using them in STUDIO, so be it, but would be helpful if I could point to them from 12.

I had the same problem. It's cuz you need 64 bit versions. Is it possible to get 64 bit versions if for free if you had the 32 bit version?

I can't find any info about these effects, even at the New BlueFX site. I KNOW they were sold with Movie Studio, but seems silly you can't use in a 64bit system. Especially since I OWN both of them. Just a lot of neededless extra work to have to render effects outside Pro but I guess it happens.

Anyone else have ideas here?

I had the same issue with certain New Blue FX that came bundled with Movie Studio Platinum Pro 9. If I remember correctly, VP 10 (32-bit) recognized them. VP 11 (32- and 64-bit) never recognized them, nor did VP 12. Bummer.

But the good news is, New Blue provided a "Starter Package FX" with Titler Pro 1.0 when it came out with VP 11. Many of those FX are similar if not identical to the aforementioned Movie Studio FX.

I almost never use FX of this sort -- maybe on a title now and then -- so it doesn't affect my projects too much.

Yah! I can loadup my (owned) Sony Vegas Pro 11 32-bit version and use PRO to edit WITH the 32bit effects from my Sony Movie Studio HD Platnium (also owned).
Guess I'll mothball SVP12 for a while - that thrill didn't last long. hahahhahaha! Kinda wondering why I bought it now? ... maybe they'll eventually make a wrapper for all our old 32 bit plugins....

So, if I install movie studio 11 32bit, pro 11 32 bit, pro 11 64 bit, pro 12 64 bit all at the same time, I suppose I'll be covered. Wonder if they will all work right? :)

(PS Movie Studio HD Plat crashed every time I used it last night, where as Pro has never crashed on me. SAVE is my new nervous twitch)

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF 64 BIT PRO 11 CAN USE 32 BIT PLUGS??

Only 32-bit VST effects are automatically wrapped.
