Won't that lose (set to default) a load of app config e.g. the user interface layout?
BTW I found a serial number for MSPPS so I must have bought it at some point. It may have been bought for MSP12, and picked up by Pro 13 when that was installed a few months later. But it was never used AFAIK.
How can I stop Pro 13 detecting it, if it causes problems in it? Or is merely not using the plug-in in Pro 13 sufficient?
I have never used any NBFX plugins except the Lens Correction, and that I used only in Pro 13. It was only just now that I discovered it works perfectly in MSP12 and had I known that I would have never gone to Pro 13 :)
Dammit... wish I knew. I could have saved myself the whole $200 Pro 13 + $99 upgrade, which actually downgraded everything I was doing because of the various GPU crash issues in Pro 13, plus render corruption due to various operations on the PC, which MSP12 never suffered from, on 100+hr renders (had a very slow PC then).
However, I am surprised that I never noticed "Lens Correction" in the MSP12 plug-in list.
Anyway, now I have it, from the $99 "works with Pro 13 only" kit, presumably there is no point in reinstalling the MSPPS stuff - correct?
However, I do have one use for Pro 13: I need Vegasaur for SRT import and MSP12 doesn't see Vegasaur
I have no evidence that MSPPS gave any trouble. It was someone in this thread who recommended it is removed.
One thing I have noticed is that if you use MSPPS in MSP12 it doesn't ask for the serial number (it asks for email plus name) whereas in Pro 13 it asks for a serial number but doesn't accept the one I have and remains a 30 day trial :)
MSPPS (and older MSP and MSPP packages as well) is a Movie Studio bundle and will not work in Vegas Pro without a watermark. All Movie Studio bundles will not work in Pro and all Pro bundles will not work in Movie Studio without a watermark.
The "starter pack" was included with Titler Pro 1. If you had the bundled Titler Pro with Vegas Pro 11 and 12, it will not work in Vegas Pro 13 or 14 without a watermark. You do not need the "bundled" serial number but must use the OpenFX version. You cannot use the bundled serial number to do a retail activation.
If you purchased Titler Pro 1, you can activate Titler Pro 1 with the purchased serial number which will also activate the "starter pack". The "starter pack" cannot be activated separately.
The VE6 Package bundled with Vegas Pro 13 is currently getting a watermark in Vegas Pro 14. This should be resolved in a future update.
Also, please always reboot before installing or uninstalling third party products for Vegas. Vegas does not always completely leave memory when you exit it and can keep files locked that will not be removed or updated depending on what you are doing.
It sounds like different (but very similar) versions of these 3rd party add-ons were offered for different Vegas programs, each one with a deal agreed with Vegas to be free or paid for, but the deal is valid only for that program and not for another program which the add-on works in.
So you have something that works in MSP12 and you open it in Pro 13 and it asks for $100... or vice versa.
Does anyone know what NewBlueVideoEssentials6VegasPro13ForWindowsSetup30.exe is?
I downloaded it on someone's advice (a free bundle for Pro 13, apparently) and during installation is says the serial number will be emailed but it never came.
Regarding NewBlueVideoEssentials6VegasPro13ForWindowsSetup30.exe should you get a serial number from NB? When I install it it says one will be emailed but it never arrives - as mentioned previously.
In general I try to avoid trial versions of anything because they have to leave rubbish in some hidden place on the computer, to prevent a simple re-installation giving you another 30 days. And this rubbish can bite you in the future when you install a real version.
What does this do? Sorry for repetition but it was not obvious to me that this .exe is "Video Essentials VI" but I guess 6=VI :)
I downloaded it from somewhere but I don't recall where.
I have just installed it again, to produce that screenshot above, and this time no serial number was mentioned.
An email has just arrived from NB with a new executable for Ess 3 Vol 2 so I will report when I have rebooted and tested it tomorrow. It looks like a public URL...
